Cameron Holt grew up in Paso Robles, located in California’s beautiful Central Coast, where he spent his formative years performing with various community-based ensembles as well as several All-State honor bands. In 2013, Cameron attended the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music in pursuit of a Bachelor of Music degree in Tuba Performance while studying under Jim Self, Norman Pearson, and Doug Tornquist. At USC Cameron developed a unique tone and sense of musicality allowing him to seamlessly transition from large orchestral settings to more intimate chamber music.
Mr. holt is heavily involved with music education throughout the Los Angeles Unified School District and has worked with many young brass players to afford them the opportunities he himself has been fortunate enough to enjoy. He is now pursuing a Master of Music in Tuba Performance degree at USC while freelancing in the Los Angeles area and performing with several orchestras and groups such as Hazelnuss das Music and Two Button Brass. Camron ultimately hopes to continue reaching new heights in his playing while fallowing his mentors’ footsteps in helping prepare the next generation of musicians.
